How to make a claim

If your AXA Sun Life policy is not one listed above, the person making the claim should contact our policy helpline on 08457 322 223.


The Guaranteed Over 50 Plan and The 50 Plus Protector Plan

Claiming a cash sum

The Guaranteed Over 50 Plan and The 50 Plus Protector Plan are designed to pay a cash sum for one or more of your loved ones on your death. When the time comes for your loved ones to let us know that they’ll be making a claim, they can call us on 08457 322 223 or write to us at AXA Sun Life plc, PO Box 1810, Bristol BS99 5SN. We can then help by stopping the collection of premiums for the policy until the claim has been processed.

To process the claim, AXA Sun Life will need:

  • The name and date of birth of the policyholder
  • The original death certificate
  • Evidence of the beneficiary’s entitlement to the policy proceeds.

We may also need:

  • A copy of the Policy Schedule and Endorsements
  • A copy of the policyholder's Will if there is one.

If these documents are not available, the person making the claim should contact our policy helpline on 08457 322 223.

Recording your wishes

If you'd like to record the names of your beneficiaries, you can complete an 'Expression of Wish' form and send it to us for safekeeping. If you'd like us to send you a form in the post, call 08457 322 223.

The Expression of Wish form is an Adobe PDF file, which means you'll need Adobe Reader installed on your computer. Most computers will have this software installed, but if yours does not, you can download it and install it for free from http://www.adobe.com/reader (link opens a new window). Please note that the Adobe website is not regulated by the FSA and, as it is not operated by AXA Sun Life plc, we cannot be liable for its contents.


Simple Choice Funerals

Claiming your chosen funeral services

The process for Simple Choice Funerals is slightly different. To make a claim your loved ones can contact The Co-operative Funeralcare directly – there is no need to contact AXA Sun Life as well. Your loved ones can either call 0845 602 0075 (open Mon-Fri 8am-6pm; Sat 9am-1pm excluding public holidays) or call a local Co-operative Funeralcare funeral home to make a claim.

To process the claim, The Co-operative Funeralcare will need:

  • The full name and address of the policyholder
  • The AXA Sun Life policynumber
  • The Co-operative Funeralcare Funeral Planning number
  • The original death certificate.

If these documents are not available, the person making the claim should contact The Co-operative Funeralcare on 0845 602 0075.

Claiming a cash sum

If your loved ones are claiming a cash sum instead of the funeral services, they will need to contact AXA Sun Life rather than The Co-operative Funeralcare to make a claim. They can call us on 08457 322 223 or write to us at AXA Sun Life plc, PO Box 1810, Bristol BS99 5SN.

To process the claim, AXA Sun Life will need:

  • The name and date of birth of the policyholder
  • The original death certificate
  • Evidence of the beneficiaries entitlement to the policy proceeds.

We may also need:

  • A copy of the Policy Schedule and Endorsements
  • A copy of the policyholder's Will if there is one.

EasyCover

Claiming a cash sum on death

Should you die during the term of the Plan, your loved ones can call us on 08457 322 223 or write to us at AXA Sun Life plc, PO Box 1810, Bristol BS99 5SN to let us know they’ll be making a claim. We can then help by stopping the collection of premiums for the policy until the claim has been processed.

To process the claim, AXA Sun Life will need:

  • The name and date of birth of the policyholder
  • The original death certificate
  • Evidence of the beneficiary’s entitlement to the policy proceeds.

We may also need:

  • A copy of the Policy Schedule and Endorsements
  • A copy of the policyholder's Will if there is one.

Terminal illness claims

If you are diagnosed with an advanced or rapidly progressing incurable illness where, in the opinion of an attending consultant and confirmed by our Chief Medical Officer, your life expectancy is less than 12 months, EasyCover will pay the fixed cash sum at this stage rather than on your death. This benefit does not apply if the illness is diagnosed in the last year of the Plan.

Bonus CashBuilder Plus Plan

Life cover claims

Some of your monthly premium goes towards providing you with life cover. The life cover lasts for the whole of your Plan so should you die during the term of the Plan, a cash sum would be paid. Your loved ones can call us on 08457 322 223 or write to us at AXA Sun Life plc, PO Box 1810, Bristol BS99 5SN to let us know they’ll be making a claim. We can then help by stopping the collection of premiums for the policy until the claim has been processed.

To process the claim, AXA Sun Life will need:

  • The name and date of birth of the policyholder
  • The original death certificate
  • Evidence of the beneficiary’s entitlement to the policy proceeds.
